The CATHEDRAL SANTA MARIA ASSUNTA with characteristic pre-Romanesque architecture, the impressive ninth century crypt with its seven naves, multifarious columns and varied chapters which remind one of an underground forest into which rays of light shine intermittently. Among the artistic treasures is a relief donated by Bamberg Cathedral.
